New clubnight in London?

Would love to see a club night in London dedicated to guys into all the kinds of gear you see on Spandex Party. Not a sex night as such, just a chance to wear the gear, drink bear, socialise and connect. Naturally when Covid dies down of course. It just strikes me that there is a huge underground scene that should be acknowledged in popular culture. Joe Snyder needs to go mainstream!

The trouble with Britain is that we are so repressed so scenes like this remain very hidden. The point about Spandex and form-enhancing gear is that it unites straight, bi and gay guys alike. That is worth celebrating.

It was a shame Heros in London closed down because it was the place everyone could go and wear their lycra etc. Bristol has one (Fetclub - currently closed due to current restrictions) but I wonder if there's similar places anywhere else?

Would love this idea, only managed to get to heros once on a trip to London but sadly not in London often

I used to go to Heros at Backstreet almost every month when I lived in London until mid 2015 It changed crowd slightly when it moved from a Sunday to a Saturday (but at least it meant I could enjoy the lycra then slip into some leather at 10PM and I wasn't the only one doing that) A lot of places run sports kit nights but it's not the same as a pure lycra wearing session.

Actually I say clubnight but perhaps a whole venue dedicated to Spandex/Lycra. Heroes was good but it takes place in a fetish club which will put off straight guys. Plus you can have sex there. Not a bad thing but again that prevents it becoming mainstream. My idea is for a bright, open venue where guys can wear what they like, chat, drink, make whatever connections they like. First and foremost friendly, as opposed to cruisy. Bring together guys of all sexual persuasions under a common interest of each standing proud in their form-enhancing gear. No disrespect to dark, seedy fetish venues (been there plenty of times myself, they certainly have their appeal) but this is about turning an underground culture mainstream so that guys can celebrate this aspect of their masculinity together.

Sounds good. You could set this up yourself? Find a suitable venue and go from there?

I’ll look into it. I might try to find a hotel with a nice bar that might accommodate.

Comptons on Old Compton Street in SoHo hosts the monthly Leather Social on a Sunday afternoon / evening in the upstairs bar so it's already fairly fetish friendly so that could be an option It is very publcic though with large windows and if I remember correctly the pub toilets are upstairs so it's still a public access area. No changing facilities either.

Nice idea. I’m quite keen to avoid gay venues though because it’ll put off straight dudes. I need to find a neutral, liberal social venue.

This sounds like an amazing idea, never really had the chance to go to Heroes so something like this would be great!
